INTRODUCTION
Given the high regulatory environment which is ever changing and more demanding and higher consumer expectations, employers increasingly expect their staff to be ready in meeting these challenges. They recognise that knowledgeable and qualified staff could play key roles in raising and maintaining standards within their organisations.
Understanding the industry’s needs, the MII has developed a certificate programme which is designed to provide the participants with the foundation knowledge, skills and behaviours (competencies) needed to perform their role effectively and to deliver a professional service to customers.
Objective

The aim of the course is to prepare the new entrants or participants with the introductory level of working knowledge of the basic concepts of risk, insurance principles, the need for reinsurance, the underwriting process from the initial risk offering leading up to the issuance of policy and the claims process from receipt of the intimation up to claims resolution including fraud, complaints and disputes.
The course will help them to understand how the insurance business operates, the activities and practices involve and the importance to comply with the laws, regulations and the prevailing market agreements.
The course, importantly, will not only promote awareness and familiarization, but also will provide a platform for a uniformity, consistency and transparency of information and practices among the member insurers, and further, forms part of delivery vehicle for such standardization across the industry |

The Certificate is suitable for staff of insurance companies, agents, brokers and related organisation whether they are directly involved in insurance practice or employed in support functions.

Upon successful completion, the participant will be awarded the MII – Certificate.
This qualification is designed as a first step towards becoming professionally qualified in insurance profession – one subject will be granted exemption when the participant progressing to the next level of MII qualifications - Diploma in Insurance
